the Lincoln to Wherwell Challenge

The Lincoln to Wherwell Challenge – our charity bike ride which covered 186 miles, completed by nine members of staff who cycled from our offices in Lincoln to those at Wherwell, with others covering 40 and 15 miles – proved a great success.

We are only a few pounds off our target of £8,500 and donations are still coming in via our charity donations page. The charities to benefit from our fundraising will be Macmillan Cancer Support, Papyrus (prevention of young suicides), Demelza children’s hospice care, our local air ambulances and our local hospital’s charity The Stars Appeal. All of our charities were chosen by members of staff who have had first-hand experience of their worth and seen the benefits of their work in action.

Thankfully, none of the riders were too sore for the next day of work, if only a little tired. None the less, all the riders took a huge amount of enjoyment from the ride and felt a great sense of achievement upon their return to find they had reached over £7,400 while they had been away cycling.

The nine cyclists who participated in the full journey completed their challenge in two days, joining up with the other riders for a grand entry to Wherwell for the last 15 miles, tired but triumphant.
