Yesterday, on the eve of SMM 2018, three directors of Simplex-Turbulo company attended a dinner held for the worldwide network of SKF Marine agents plus senior personnel at the fabulous Harbour Club in Hamburg. This stunning building, in the city’s old ferry port overlooks a second location of historic interest on the Norderelbe.

Guests could look directly across to the Blohm+Voss shipyards from the St. Pauli Landungsbrücken pier. The Blohm+Voss shipyards are a well known industrial site on the Hamburg skyline. It is both integral to the city and gigantic in scale, with a rich history of building, converting and repairing ships dating back to 1877 which continues to this day.

The seals manufacturing division of Blohm+Voss is now part of SKF Marine which is the proud supplier of the Simplex range of sterntube seals, a market leader since its inception in 1948.

In the feature image above you can see the view across the Norderelbe to the Blohm+Voss shipyards.
