Perkins Diesel Engine

Lincoln Diesels has just completed the overhaul of a Perkins 1006 engine for the Welton Oil Field, near Lincoln.

Once the engine had been delivered to us it had to be removed from its acoustic container, completely stripped, and inspected at our Lincoln workshop. Our customer was then provided with a detailed quotation for the labour and parts required to complete overhaul work.

The unit was stored at Lincoln Diesels works for a number of weeks before the official purchase order was received enabling us to proceed with the recommended work.

Work carried out by Lincoln Diesels included arranging for the alternator to be refurbished locally, renewing switch gear and load testing at our workshop prior to return to the customer.

The work carried out by Lincoln Diesels has provided the customer with a diesel powered generating set that will provide emergency power to the site for many years to come at fifty per cent of the cost of a new replacement set.
