Lincoln Diesels is pleased to welcome Adrian Payne as Workshop and Service Manager.

 

A specialist in the gas turbine power generation industry, Adrian has a career that has spanned more than four decades, with thirty-one years of service devoted to Siemens in Lincoln. We caught up with him to discuss his work history and new role as Workshop and Service Manager.

 

You worked at Siemens for thirty-one years and must have seen many changes during that time, was it a hard decision to leave the company?
Yes very much so, it was a difficult choice. I had held various roles there including parts manufacture, machine maintenance, purchasing and engine overhaul. However, an exciting new role opened for me, whereby I had the opportunity to run a business.

 

So, what happened next following your long-standing career at Siemens?
I took up the role of running a gas turbine business in Aberdeen for Wood Group and was there for a total of six years. Following that, I was able to return much closer to home, and for the last two years I have worked for East Midlands Trains in Nottingham as a Depot/Service Manager.

 

Having gained so much experience in an interesting and varied career, is there anything in particular that you would like to introduce at Lincoln Diesels?
My time at Siemens exposed me to many lean manufacturing initiatives so I’m looking forward to introducing some of these improvements into Lincoln Diesels’ business planning.
I hope that these initiatives will in time improve the services that we provide to our customers.
