The S-T Diesel and Marine Group is comprised of Simplex-Turbulo Co Ltd as well as Lincoln Diesels Ltd and the brands Dorman Diesels and Durability Coatings. The S-T group is also an associate and shareholder of both Maritime Propulsion Services BV and Maritime Propeller Repairs BV.
We aim to supply high quality components (often directly from original component manufacturers) and to cut delivery times to the minimum by constant investment in stock.
Originally founded in 1934 this largely family-owned company has grown substantially in turnover, from £11.8 million in 2012 to £15 million in 2014. The group employs 50 members of staff, and exports globally to over 50 countries. Approximately £5m worth of diesel and gas engine components stock is held in our stores.
Established initially as ‘Simplex Rudder & Turbulo Auxiliaries Ltd’, Simplex first began conducting business with sales of the Turbulo bilge and ballast oily water separator. In 1956, the name was changed to Simplex-Turbulo Marine Company Ltd, and in 1985 the company became private with Blohm & Voss retaining 25.1% of shares. In 1987, the name of the company was changed once again to Simplex-Turbulo Company Ltd, which it remains today.
At this stage the company diversified it’s product range within the marine and diesel sectors, and in 2004 it bought the company Lincoln Diesels Ltd. In 2010, the brand Dorman Diesels also joined the group, as well as Maritime Propulsion Services (MPR) and Maritime Propeller Repairs (MPS) forming and joining as well. In 2013, the group acquired the brand Durability Coatings and began offering high velocity oxygen fuel coating techniques.
